The only moisturizer I will put on my body!

As a health nut, I have always cooked with coconut oil on a regular basis, but I hadn't yet decided to try it on my body. Plenty of close friends raved about the incredible coconut oil and it's versatility. As for a few months prior, I had been using pure cocoa butter, but the tedious process of breaking it up, melting it, and then applying became too much for me so I bought a fresh jar at my trusted Trader Joe's and haven't turned back. Most people stray away from body oils as they feel as if they will give off the "greasy" feel, but not coconut oil. Your skin drinks this up and you smell absolutely delicious. A little goes a long way as you can let it melt in your hands on contact before applying. I have been using this almost twice a day all summer and it lasts a very long time. The left over I like to apply to my lips for a little treatment for them as well. :)

I also have used this on the ends of my hair as a moisturizing treatment when the ends of my long hair begin to get ratty and dry. Apply before bed, wrap in a bun, and wa la! In the morning your ends will feel refreshed and moisturized.

I can't wait to see what coconut oil does for me in the cold winter months!!!

  1. Great idea! I have yet to get into the Coconut oil stuff, but this sounds quite simple. Going to hit the grocery store after work!

  2. I use it in the shower because that way I can put it all over my body. It doesn't rinse all the way off but it doesn't leave your body feeling really oily either :)
