Take The Initiative.

Today while having lunch and coffee with a friend, we began chatting about ambition, life, and where we want to be. (The big stuff, right?) And as usual, I went off on a tangent about that but on a bigger meaning and level.

Being in a place of my life where I am free to be wherever I want, do whatever I want, and be whoever I want, is ultimately very refreshing, yet at times can be very nerve-racking. I have many ambitions, and many things I would like to do yet it is about picking up and taking the first step towards those things. Maybe even recognizing the first step is one?

We were talking about how we desire these things and want them in our lives, yet are so comfortable in our lives right now. But I genuinely believe that comfortability is much too often confused with true, genuine happiness. They can be so easily confused within ourselves because WHILE we are in that comfortability, we are genuinely happy and present in the moment, but is that truly what we want and yearn for in the long run? Chances are most of the time, the answer is no.

Don't get me wrong, and think that I am meaning no matter what you are doing, chances are you want to be doing something different. I simply express the idea that it is SO easy to get stuck in what we are doing. The opportunities in front of you, within you, and right now are endless. Be original, be yourself and don't settle for anything else. Life is too short to succumb to mediocrity, Don't be afraid to take that first step and move towards bigger things. Your comfortability can follow you anywhere you go, yet the possibilities and dreams that you have are only possible if you pursue them and take the initiative to take that first step.

Say yes to opportunity, and my new motto (take the initiative.)
"Don't be trapped by dogma -- which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

Have a beautiful Sunday.
